West coast premieres of two films will be presented at IBFF 2018 SHOWCASE in LA as part of BuddhaFest | LA, June 2, and in the Bay Area at the Smith Rafael Film Center Sundays, June 10 and 17, with a Marin premiere of an additional film on June 24.
Zen for Nothing, by Werner Penzel, and Honeygiver Among the Dogs, by Dechen Roder, both had their US premieres at IBFF’s Screening the Buddha series at the Smithsonian’s Freer | Sackler galleries in early May. Director Werner Penzel will be attending both west coast screenings, and director Dechen Roder will be appearing via Skype for live Q&A after the June 17 screening.
In addition, the film My Son Tenzin, by Tashi Wangchuk and Tsultrim Dorjee, with co-director Tsultrim Dorjee and lead actor Tsering Dorjee Bawa attending, will feature Tsering Dorjee Bawa performing Tibetan songs before the screening.
