The 5th annual BuddhaFest takes place in Arlington, Virginia June 19–22, 2014. This year’s event includes a number of films and some very special guests.
Good Morning America Weekend Edition anchor Dan Harris will speak on opening night about his new book, 10% Happier, which chronicles his journey from skepticism to Buddhist meditation.
Other speakers include Roshi Joan Halifax, abbot of Upaya Institute and Zen Center, speaking on compassion and care; Gelek Rimpoche, on The Way of the Bodhisattva (he is also the subject of the new film screening at BuddhaFest, The American Rimpoche, by Nikki Appino); and Acharya Fleet Maul, Tara Brach, Angela Blueskies and Margo McLoughlin plus a special event with Sharon Salzberg, Barbara Bonner and Ram Dass (via Skype) in conversation about The Power of Generosity.
The films screening this year are American Rimpoche, Blood Brother, Monk With a Camera, The Whale, Unlikely Friends and The Golden Land of Myanmar.
