IBFF 2015 BAY AREA runs April 10–16 at the Smith Rafael Film Center and presents fifteen premieres from ten countries, with filmmakers and special guests in person and via Skype.

Highlights include:
- award-winning poet Jane Hirshfield introduces the opening night film (Friday, April 10 at 7:00 pm), Even Though the Whole World is Burning;
- Mark Watts presents his film about his father, Why Not Now? With Alan Watts along with animated works by Trey Parker/Matt Stone (South Park), Sunday, April 12 at 8:00 pm;
- Wes “Scoop” Nisker introduces the Thai comedy filmed in India, The Three Marks of Existence on Thursday, April 16 at 7:00 pm;
- on Wednesday, April 15 at 7:00 pm, Ellen Bruno presents a program of short works she selected after a recent visit to Myanmar (Burma), Myanmar: New Voices/New Visions with Myanmar native Kenneth Wong on hand for the Q&A; and
- short profiles by Rebecca Dreyfus of Peter Matthiessen, Sharon Salzberg, Giancarlo Esposito, David Lynch and others will screen throughout the festival.
Filmmakers on hand for Q&A (in person or live via Skype) include David Cherniack (Dharma Rising), Donagh Coleman (A Gesar Bard’s Tale), Babeth VanLoo (Painting Peace and Khandro: A Woman’s Path of Peace), Zhou Chengyu (Hermits), Sander Francken (Bardsongs), Nikki Appino (American Rimpoche), and Lee Chang-Lee (On the Road).
