2015-2016 Season Designed for Multi City Run
Plans are being finalized for the 2015–16 season of the International Buddhist Film Festival (IBFF), which will be presented in a number of cities on both sides of the Pacific. The festivals will be scaled to each local venue and will feature ten to twenty titles plus ancillary events.
Cities under consideration include Sydney/Brisbane/Byron Bay, Seoul, Hong Kong, Taipei, Honolulu, Vancouver, San Francisco and Los Angeles. Programs will include new films selected from recent submissions in response to the IBFF Open Call for Entries, films by filmmakers local to each festival, and a special presentation of repertory features from all over the world. Other cities, including some beyond the Pacific Rim, may be added before dates and programs are announced early next year.
“We’ve had really rewarding experiences over the years presenting the IBFF around the world as well as our homestands in San Francisco and our inaugural festival in Los Angeles,” said IBFF executive director Gaetano Maida. “This coming season, our twelfth, is an opportunity to further expand the audience for these excellent films and introduce local filmmakers around the Pacific to new audiences and fellow filmmakers.”
